Fuzzy Stuff

This is my first year growing both regular and Yellow Riesentraube. This might be normal for them, but if it is some sort of disease or whatever? I'm just being cautious.

This fuzzy look is only near the new blossoms.

Its normal no disease on those fuzzy little plants. Lookin good.

The "hairs" on a tomato are called trichomes. They are normal. They serve a function of protection for the plant. You can find more info by googling the term if you are interested Salt.

Thank you both. I guess they eventually fall off because the big Multiflora clusters no longer look like the pictures above.

Now, I'm curious if the other Multiflora tomato varieties I've been getting seeds for will do the same thing?

Karen, I'll look up trichomes tomorrow when I have more time. Thanks

I looked at other Multiflora plants in the garden today. Sure enough, an Ildi plant has blossoms areas that looks almost exactly like the pictures above.
