Wow that looks like it was a lot of work, but I'm sure you'll make far fewer trips to the produce section of the grocery store once your veggies grow in. I hope the mats work out well for you, keep us posted on how they turn out and if they cut down the weeds.

I've never heard of the garden mat before either. I do use landscape fabric in the tomato garden as it controls weeds so well, but I of course have to cut holes. Your garden looks great.
What a great score that greenhouse was! Rmey

Mats are rolled up and put away until next year. I was pretty happy with the mats this year they
did keep the weeds down. They pulled right up with no problem and rinse off nice. Have to say they are still like new after one season. I will be using them again next year. Going to work on the soil a little more for next year. When I woke this morning it was 15F with a wind chill of -5F. My lettuce made it through the night in my greenhouse. The temp in the greenhouse was 31F. Soon as the sun comes out the temp in the greenhouse goes up fast. Right know its 21F outside and the temperature in the greenhouse is 62F (wind isn't helping much today) Here is a pic I took this morning. Last edited by Wds83; November 24, 2013 at 04:09 PM. |

Thank you for posting this- I have been looking for something like this. I have a question, maybe you can answer (the website is lacking a little bit of info.) My garden plot has four foot walkways inbetween each 4' row. I usually mulch them too. I don't see any large rows in between in your plot. Did you order mats and not worry about that- just stacking them next to eachother? From your pictures- you have plenty of room to get around the plants. I am just trying to plan how many mats I would need. Not really sure how walkways fit into the mats.

I think its a waste too- This seems like a great product. Did it really breathe- aka let water in, like rain? Also, what was the shipping and handling? I need to buy a lot and I can't find that on their site. I'm real excited for this- thanks again!

The mats did let the rain go right through. I only used the drip lines a few times over the summer. The shipping was around $50.00 for the 14 mats.

I figured I post an update on how the Garden Mats are holding up. Bought the mats in 2013 this is their 3rd season and they are holding up great. They still look like new with no tears or rips in them.

Great to know they are still good. I didn't think they would fair so well. It is good to be wrong.
