Oh I agree it isn't hard, I have done it before. I just wasn't in love with the results enough to justify it. But I do make the oven roasted sauce, that is lovely.

I don't grow paste tomatoes at all really either and I cook and can lots of tomatoey goodness. Any great tasting tomato will make great tasting tomatoey things although you may need to cook a bit longer to reduce and thicken. I like hearts because they are nice and easy to peel.

Thanks. My bombardment continues, I'm picking 3 huge baskets just about every day. Aaaaah!

I have been making the oven roasted sauce, takes a while but is delicious. I don't even bother peeling them, I don't mind a rustic sauce.
