The picture has Sugary Pounder looking like a red tomato. Do you mean Sugary Yellow? I didn't actually notice a link, but I'll look for it.

I don't think there is a relation between yellow color and more sweetness. In fact, considering brix measurements of various varieties (usually hybrids however, considering most studies are made on them), it seems the yellows have generally lower brix.

This year's newcomer, Orange Banana, has turned out super sweet and super delicious. The plant itself is dying of who-knows-what-disease, but the fruits are.. out of this world. I think I'll make some space for it in next year's list..!
Azoychka continues to be my mom's favorite - despite of bland beginnings, the flavor has improved remarkably. She already had decided not to grow it again, but lo and behold, it maintains its preferred status |
