Yellow, not Golden Dwarf Champion

Jenifer called my attention to Yellow Dwarf Champion in the SSE 2006 Yearbook offered by SSE. I wonder if this is really Golden Dwarf Champion that is misnamed. Anyone know about this?

Michael, I am going to piggyback your thread, if you don't mind.

Any information on SSE's offering of Tree (under Pinks) and Beefsteak, Early Dwarf (under Reds) would be appreciated.

Also noted, SSE's offer of Azorian (Reds). Hmmm...

Jenifer-didnt I send you Beefsteak, Early Dwarf? If I didnt, let me know. Its about 2.5 feet tall and gives fruit from 6-9 oz. Its red and sunscald was a problem for me in the greenhouse-it was in a spot that got intense sunlight and heat for about 10 hours a day. So much fruit that its hard to see the foliage. Next year I will put it on the floor to minimize it. Good tasting.

I would be willing to bet that is the case as far as Yellow/Golden Dwarf Champion - same tomato. GDC was released by Burpee in the 1890s and is indeed bright yellow. Seems like back then, Golden was a descriptor for bright (canary) yellow, rather than the deeper, orangy hue that some of us probably now correlate with the word "golden".

Speaking of dwarves, there are a load of new ones in the sse yearbook-I am going to start a thread to see if anyone knows about the ones I am picking out to order.
