Default My compost bin surprise!! :)

Late in the summer a plant grew from the side of my bin. Nice to see it but I have not grown a grape tomato in about ten years!! lol

Going to save seeds of course and see what she brings next year!

Here's hoping!

Nope. None of those at all. I assume it's from a hybrid. Who knows what I'll get next year. Could come out as nothing.

Hope not though.

Bird's dropping is another possibility.

It sounds like a fun project, but I don't think the name "Compost Bin Surprise" would be a great one for a tomato .

I have some compost bin cucumber sprouts that are going to get a surprise when the weather gets cold.

Did you compost old vines with overgrown cukes ?
cucumbers can get crossed real easy.

Nope I just tossed some seeds from cucumbers in it.
It is highly unlikely they are crossed because I only grew Market Mores and as far as I know no one else close to me even grows cucumbers.
Bumble bees and red wasps are my pollinators.

But cucumber at the stage that is picked for slicing should not have mature viable seeds

I'll probably get some kind of strange looking thing. I tried this once before and the tomatoes were a mess!
