Epsom Salts?
I've been doing a little reading on using Epsom Salts in the garden. I've used it before with tomatoes and peppers, but nothing else, and I can't really say that I remember much difference (pro or con) when using it. But seems like a reasonable source of Mg, and alleged to help prevent and treat Early Blight on tomatoes.
Any experiences to share? Anyone using it containers? -GG |

Not sure what impact it has on tomatoes, but I used it regularly on my peppers last year for the first time. I saw a real difference in the size of my bell peppers. Most were the size of the big ones in grocery store.

If you soil is deficient in one or two of its two ingredients, you will notice a difference. If it isn't you won't. Soil test cost more than Epsom Salts, so try it. If you see a difference keep doing it, if not stop doing it.

Epsom Salts is magnesium sulfate.
If a soil test shows that your soil is deficient in Mg++,OK,but few soil sare. The two best uses I've seen folks mention are to use it for soaking your feet,I don't know why, but for many years the Palm trees in FL were sprayed with it before the snowbirds from the north arrived to green up the Palms, and that b/c the central molecule in chlorophyll is MG++ so more Mg++,more photosynthesis, more green. Carolyn, and some use it just b'c their father or grandfather used it.
