Hey I have a fair few fava seed varieties, they should be in already but doing that tomorrow.. which one though..
I have a nameless variety that I have grown for many years and I am trying to hide it LOL Way way back it was a commercial kind my Dad grew I think but over the many years he and then me have been growing it it has changed qyite a lot It has crossed the Atlantic three times in the last decade with me and the first time in 1980 and it still goes on. I guess by now it is MY Bean, I always look for another kind but end up growing it anyway. I got an interesting purple runner bean a couple of years ago from a grower in the UK..the first known purple runner. The first year I grew it I didn't pull out the roots and two regrew last year, so I left them in the ground too, just wondering. There are seeds still hanging there but I think they may be no good as they would not have dried. I did dry a few but not enough to share. XX Jeannine |

Sounds like you have a treasure there! I tried growing some favas this last fall- they are blooming now, but a bit buried in weeds since Rob has been unwell. I need to get out there- germination wasn't great, but should get a few pods this year and be able to enjoy them a little, LOL!
I'll be trying them againn next fall. We'll have to talk all things fava then! |

Welcome back Jeannine Anne, again!
Sorry to hear that your DH is now in the care facility. But happy to hear that you are looking after yourself and taking time to do stuff like gardening that brings you joy. Happy First Day of Spring!

Welcome home Jeannine Anne. I am sorry to hear about your husband. That one is a very hard one to cope with. But, I am so glad that you are taking the time to garden. One seed, sows so much more for us than just one plant. The benefits are amazing. It fills our souls. It is the best medicine that there is.

Hi Jeannnie Anne.
Glad you could come back. I enjoyed the few posts from when I joined and you were beginning to be away from here more and more. I am sorry for your situation being so consumming, but we all have things I think we never thought would happen or have to deal with when we were younger or newly married and they must come before anything else. Here I am taking care of my inlaws daily. I never thought I would see that happen. it is pretty consuming and I think they both have dementia of some form or another. not bad but it is there and I have to try to keep it all in check and there are so many things I don't know or even think to check for... such as dental hygiene... oops that one slipped by me until this week. Well, anyway... take care of yourself, too. Glad you are able to spend a little time here, again.
