Many Hydroponics stores carry Pro-Mix HP which is ideal to use in the EarthTainer. In California I pay about $37.00 for the 3.8 cu.ft. bale. It is probably cheaper on the East Coast. Call around in your area. Plain Sunshine Mix #4 will also work. Check their prices on both - I prefer Pro-Mix myself.

Scott, where do you buy your bales, and which one can you find in Atlanta?

My local GH supply stopped carrying MM360 and switched to Jolly Gardener. I didn't like the look of the JG and have yet to find MM360 near me anywhere else.

The farmers Co-Op stores in middle Tennessee carry Pro Mix . I am sure S.C. has similar type stores where you could try to locate pro Mix. Good luck

The $36 at Atlantis Hydroponics in Atlanta is a good price on 4cuft bales of Promix HP, they run $40-$50 in the Denver area.

For what it's worth, I bought Pro Mix All Purpose from a Home Depot last year for my Earthbox and it worked great. Later I also saw it at my local Menards, big giant compressed bales at both places.

I will look for the ProMix All-Purpose at Home Depot, and ask. I didn't see it last year, but our HD is not the best stocked on garden stuff, it might be something they could carry.

I ordered mine on Home Depot's website for pickup at a store about an hour from my house. I drove past two other HD stores on the way, which was kind of annoying, but the site did direct me to the store that carried it.

Last week I bought the "Pro Mix All-Purpose Professional Grower's Mix" (2 cu. ft.) at Menards in OH for $13.97 ea., curious if other than perlite ratio (if at all in the mix) - how different it is from the HP, only info that I could find is that it is primarily peat, will have to figure out how to come up with something approximating Raybo's mix. I also have on hand two 2.8 cu. ft. bags of Metro Mix 360 I'll be mixing also to compare how they do side-by-side, and will also need to figure out if I need to alter the mix for peppers. Lots to figure out after forced to take time off of gardening the past few years due to health issues and no experience with containers. Ordered black plastic grow bags, am also looking at some tan mesh ones at a reasonable price. BTW lots of good info about medium on Raybo's "Earth-Tainer Construction Guide" that I downloaded to iBook app on my iPad, it's been like going back to school this past few weeks learning all this stuff, so many great resources available!
