Can tomatoes be successfully grown with the trellis

So can indoor tomatoes be grown in a grow tent with the scrog method aka trellis?

I have seen a few folks try and grow tomatoes and peppers and a few other plants totally indoors, but usually those are folks that have sun rooms . Mainly they grow indoors because they are not physically able to get outdoors and yet want to grow their own plants.

To me, personally, unless there was a physical reason for not being able to get outdoors, I wouldn't grow tomatoes and peppers inside other than to start them early.

When grown srtickly indoors, the tomatoes never really reach their full flavor or potential. The light coming through the windows or other indoor light forms will just not equal how the sun light effects all aspects of growth of the plants.

If you can, I would suggest you really consider growing the plants outdoors. We can manipulate plants to grow indoors, but nothing equals the power of the sun, wind and a refreshing rain as only mother nature can.

never tried scrog,but it looks interesting.
I lack the space to spread things out.

I imagine you would have to do it higher up than some plants on account of needing room for the fruits of your labor.

Im growing under a bigger mars hydro led 900 but so far so good. I want to move them outside when the night temps are above fifty and try out the scrog method ill upload some pics. This is my first grow of tomatoes outside so i cant wait to see the diffrence

Well I looked up Scrog method and ended up finding nothing but pot growing.
Never heard of it before.

Yeah thats where i got the idea from those videos and pics but i would imagine with tomatoes you would have to hang the trellis up higher to get more tomatoes than not doing it. That is if they grow their flowers the same way as pot does. The main idea of the scrog is to get more flowers and a even canopy which will result in more tomatoes. Ill have to start a thread when i start my next grow

Tomatoes dont grow like pot you would want the trellis on a vertical plain not a horizontal plain I would think

That makes sense. Thats why ppl use the cages and stakes up the middle.
