From my limited experience, Burpee Quarter Century was very stock and stout.

I believe all the Dwarf Project varieties are rugose, whether they're regular or potato leaf.

If you want self supporting plants, I'm afraid dwarfs don't usually cut it. They will do great from that aspect until fruits get bigger, then it's over (still easier to support though than ones with spindly stems). Unless they don't produce much (that's an idea!).
I'd say stout determinates are ones you might look into. Like Roma (leaves are almost rugose, I'd call it an almost dwarf). Praleska is also quite thick. |

blocky ...healthy ...compact habit ....I don't mind a cage support for help if the plant is so productive . I have the Roma / Roma VF going as well it seems to be earlier than usual this year for set fruit etc. I agree with you as this variety for a consideration ........I mean why reinvent the wheel ? Ah ha ! a new suggestion ....Praleska .....it is available at Tatiana's starting in 2016 I see...LOL will have to look into this one .....Thanks for the tip
