I would love to hear how Shantuski Velikan does. I had zero germination with my first sowing, so I soaked a few seeds in diluted fertilizer and re-sowed last weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed I don't have dead seeds!

Me too on the small backyard garden and overboard. It's still impressive and plenty of enjoyable work. I grew 26 tomatoes last year along with other things and I'm trying to stick to that this year. Happy Gardening Gardeneer and everyone else!

And it might surprise both you and me that I remember having trouble getting seeds to germinate and I have no idea if that was true for others as well. http://t.tatianastomatobase.com:88/w...tukski_Velikan Carolyn

2016 Tomato Tentative Grow List

Thanks, Carolyn--I always forget that other K! And I'm actually glad to hear you had trouble germinating it because it explains why I've tried two sowings with zero germination. Even tried the fertilizer soak method the second time and waited four weeks--still nothing. I only received about seven seeds in the MMMM and was thinking they must be dead. Now I think I'm going to give the final few seeds the paper towel/Baggie treatment and see if they do anything. I've been having the same issue with the Azoychka seeds I received in the swap. I think they'll get a final attempt as well. |

Sorry about the delay in replying; in my senior state, lost track of the thread.
"I think I have 3, but it may end up being 5 if I get some more seed in the ground. Dark Chocolate Cherry???? I have Choc. Cherry...this sounds good too! " " It is Dark Chocolate Stripes not cherry; It is similar to Chocolate Stripes but as named is darker. If I remember correctly it is more productive than Chocolate Stripes but the fruits are smaller. |
