grey spots
This is on a pink Brandywine I sprouted from seed. I planted it in a potting mix with some compost. It has grown well. Just noticed these spots when I moved it over the weekend. Any ideas?

Could be burn damage from water droplets under very strong sunlight. Could be pest damage of some kind. Doesn't look very serious to me. Have you checked under the leaves? If no infestation there, it was probably some flea beetles who decided to move on to something tastier. I hope you don't have any eggplants in the vicinity.

It looks like damage from a baby hornworm.

It is probably burn spots from some liquid fert. that got magnified by the hot MS sun, now that I think about it.
Luckily, I have had zero pests on any of my plants in my yard. I guess the usual suspects just haven't found out about my bounty yet. All container plants in a yard close to downtown. I have been diligent about looking for hornworms - no eggs or evidence yet. Probably because this is all "new" dirt that has never been used for growing any plants. Thanks for your replies. |
