Tomato and Pepper disaster...
I am almost certain that half of my tomato plants and all of my pepper plants have cucumber mosaic virus. The peppers are slowwww growing and show "lumpy/bumpy" leaves. Some of my tomatoes are stunted and have "shoestring-like leaves". I am unhappy Now, I have to rip the affected plants out....and it is getting a bit late to re-plant. I allowed the weeds/grass to grow too close to my garden this Spring...and in came the aphids. Any advice for a depressed gardener??? haha

No advice Ed, just commiserations.
Is it still possible to find a few seedlings/plants to grow in a container? Linda |

Ed, I have some Punta Banda seeds drying. They grow a short plant 18", mine produced very early and a lot. They would grow well in a pot/container. Taste wise, it would be a good salsa tomato. It's not sweet or acidic - balanced. They don't like to be watered too much.
If you want to give them a try I can send you some seed. |

Salt...that is a very nice offer! Thanks. I think I will cut my losses...and just grow out the stuff that is not affected. I certainly will not let my native grass/weeds grow next to my garden area next spring. The aphids loved the green/moist grass.

As an added bit of drama...I just went outside and noticed a parade of ants crawling up 2 or 3 of my mature tomato vines. I looked carefully...and I saw no evidence of aphids. The beat goes on.....
