Default Sustane 4-6-4

A farmer came to our community garden meeting last night, and told us about the Sustane fertilizers. He has a 100% organic farm, and loves these ferts.

Has anyone here used them? What fert did you use, on what crop, and how did it do for you? Also, is it pricey, or fairly reasonable? I am thinking of getting a 50 lb bag of the
4-6-4, but only after I hear from those who have used it.

You should email Michele and see if she has any additional or more current research.

Looks like the 8-4-4 version is under trial at UMass right now.

Could email the author Douglas Cox.

There is a 2010 UWisconsin turf fert trial, but it doesn't use the 4-6-4 version.

I have used it for several years. Great fertilizer.

I use the 8-4-4 early in the season when potting up tomatoes , peppers, basically all plants. It makes for great looking and healthy plants. I sell ALOT of those plants in the Spring. I also use in in beds for anything that likes nitrogen.

I use the 4-6-4 later in the season for in-bed tomatoes, peppers.

I believe I paid $39 for a 50 lb bag thru a greenhouse supply company that is located near me.
