Probably depends on the store manager and if they need the room and also your growing season where you live. I bought 1/2 price first time around, except for the 4.5 lb. of Osmocote which was reduced from $17.00 down to $7.00.

I bought the Expert 4 lb. Tomato and Vegetable fertilizer for .75 cents a bag. Have no clue if it's any good, but for .75, I figured I might take a chance. Anyone ever use it?
Also bought some major brand organic fertilizers for somewhat more than 1/2 off.

I actually wanted to try Tomato-tone for the next season. The best offer I found is this one on Amazon: $ 18 for 8 #. Really not as cheap as the first post mentioned. I wish had a Walmart here....

https://www.amazon.com/Espoma-TO8-To...ds=tomato+tone

Has anyone found a more convenient offer on the web? The product would have to be shipped overseas.

fritz, I would say 1$/lb on average to include shipping. 8#/$18 is higher than a cat's back. Buying in bulk (either 18 or 20 lb bag) and purchase enough to get over the free shipping threshold.

Wally world does have a good deal, but still end user quantity. Good price for small batch, and slightly better than big batch w/ free ship, no tax internet shop.

As far as shipping to Italy, have no idear. Fertilizer may be marked as bomb ingredient. Then some of the euro countries have that dam VAT tax - which is irritating.

I will talk with Alice and see about getting you a Wal-Mart over there in the old country.

After reading this thread I saddled up and went to WalMart. Tomato Tone and Garden Tone was on clearance for $2.50 from $9.88. I grabbed 4 bags. I also grabbed 2 gallons of Alaska Fish Fertilizer for $7. I also picked up a box of Miracle Grow for Tomatoes for $2.50. I was hoping they had some liquid kelp but no dice.

Thanks for the heads up on these mark downs.

I scored a dozen more of the fertilizer ring packets at $1 each. I'll be able to feed the children at a very reasonable price.

Sounds like after xmass sale on fertilizers.
They know that very few people buy fertilizer for the next 6 months or longer. Their storage and display space and inventory keeping is costly. Probably the manufacturers also don't want that stuff to be shipped back to them. Now here the smart gardener is the winner

Tomato-tone at Walmart today was $1.50 per bag/ 8# bag. Anyone need any? I can ship it to you. Let me know. Be glad to help out if you can't find it in your area.

Sorry Fritz...I would be glad to send u some if you were in the states. I'm sure Customs would confiscated the fertilizer. Have u tried truevalue.com? They ship store to store in your area if you have that chain in Italy.

I'm just kidding Gardenboy. I'm sure too the Customs would confiscate it. No, truevalue won't work either. I guess I'll keep an eye on Amazon to see if the price goes down a little bit...
