I remember getting the aurora a few times on Narragansett Bay.

Different civilizations have different constellations. We have inherited ours mostly from the Greeks, who named them.

Around here, we can see Venus, but you have to watch it for a few seconds to be sure it isn't a plane. The night sky is almost enough to make me move back to west Texas.

Down along the Rio Grande, Big Bend country, used to feel like I could have stood on the roof of my truck at night and just about catch a star. So very beautiful there at night.

The trees east of me don't allow any view of the moonrise until she's already fairly high in the sky... but the moonlight all week has been super bright. Couldn't resist taking a few pix. She was just setting this morning when I got up.
Normally mother nature provides us with dense cloud cover whenever there's a celestial event to be watched. Like she's telling us to keep our eyes focused on the ground.

It was cloudy here, even though we haven't had rain, in what, 45+ days?

BLAH. Lucky ducks that got to see it.

Someone suggested sticking a tortilla wrap on your window as a substitute if you missed out.
