The thing about the body builder who was bitten was he was single. It was before cell phones and it was weekend so nobody was looking for him. This biggest threat to his life as he literally could not move for 2 days ! No bathroom food or drink. Scary! Jimbo.

I can't judge anyone with irrational fears too much, as I am afraid of snakes. I understand their value, so I don't kill them, but understanding them is not the same as not fearing them. A big harmless garter or king snake might kill me someday by scaring me into a heart attack. |

Unfortunately, I have killed several of the Saint Andrew Cross spiders. The thing about them is they are so tiny and look just like a tic. Tics are bad down here. I try and look to count the legs and see if moves on a web thread first when possible.
Me too Cole. Even though I know my black snake and black racers are harmless, when I come upon one unexpectedly, it sets the old ticker to beating like crazy and it's find an aspirin and try and calm down. My favorite spider to see if the Orb's. Not only do they make beautiful webs, but they have such beautiful body coloring. Wish we had more of them here. |
