Earthbox under new management=decrease in quality
I'm looking to purchase some more earthboxes and read in another forum that the earthbox company was recently sold. As it is under new management, some have stated that the quality of the new boxes are of inferior quality and design.
Has anyone purchased new earthboxes recently? Are the boxes the same or has the quality changed? |

The recently released Root and Veg. box is total crap. I got most of my money back for the three I bought. They withheld 20 bucks for restocking which really irritated me since the design was flawed and released untested. The grid is too light and lacks support to hold up 2 cubic feet of wet growing medium so it collapses. And the drainage holes were drilled in the wrong place. All in all a real disaster which was born from an old unsold container the new owners had laying around their warehouse so they decided to turn it into an Earthbox. Unfortunately they seemed to have no idea how earthboxes actually work. I believe the standard Earthboxes are still original quality but you might check with the company before actually ordering.

I have 15; most under the original company and a few from the new owners and didn't see any difference.
Hopefully Marsha sees this b/c she bought some more within the last year to add to her stash. |

It is not the "Original" Earthboxes that have changed. They are as of 2016 still good quality. It is this Mickey Mouse Root & Vegetable container they put out that is junk.
So, by all means purchase the original box, just skip the Root & Veg. container. |

I have 4 already, and just recently ordered 3 more. Haven't received them yet.

I got 4 new ones of the original EB type since the new owners took over and they are exactly the same as they were before. I never got a root box.
