To finish up the greens we have Spears Tennessee green it's a little small but I'm not going to judge it yet you never know they might just be working on their roots and then jump up next week

Great looking plants - I grew General Lee this fall and still have a cutting going. Marsha was my seed source too. Mine were super productive and taste great.

BTW - I gave up on Brandywine's a few years back. Big Beautiful plants with no fruit.
It must be a heat/humidity thing with them.

Barb just wondering which one do you think taste better Rebel Yell or general lee. Yeah I've tried many different brandywine's and you're right you get very few tomatoes and are mushy when you get them but I'm hoping cowlicks or suddath will do better than the other varieties i have tryed alot of people brag on cowlicks and sudduth so this is my last try to taste a Brandywine

I'm going to grow Rebel Yell again in the fall; but for the 2 times I grew it, I only had a couple of tomatoes. The General OTOH produced TONS of tomatoes. I really liked the size of GL too.

RY really tasted great though and definitely not a fair comparison b/c in Florida we've had awesome weather for tomatoes since October. We sow seeds in August and look for the night time lows for fruit set starting in October. We've completing our 6th month of night time lows <70.

For example, I had more tomatoes on a single Kelloggs Breakfast than I did in all prior years combined. I had way more 1+ plus non-fused tomatoes than ever. Any cutting was a machine.

Keep us posted on what you find RE: the Brandywines. The Brandywine combined ones produce a lot of fruit for me - Big Brandy, BrandyBoy, etc.

ETA - Ask Marsha - She grows both and was probably the source of seeds for everyone growing them. You can find her on the Florida thread.

Thanks for the brandyboy and big brandy recommendations .i giess thats where i will go next if cowlicks dont work out.im super jealous of your prolific kelloggs breakfast i never get more than 4 or 5 otherwise i would grow it every year.i now grow orange russian 117

I grew Earl's Faux last year and loved it.The only new to me tomato I brought back from last year.Productive and the taste was amazing.Never grown Suddeth but the taste is supposed to be very similar but everyone says Faux sets tomatoes better in the heat.

On to the darks this is osena black.looks like it will be productive with all the flowers on it agian the plant is mine but the tomato pic i took off the internet

Next up is copper river this is another tomato that I've been wanting to try for years I just can't wait to taste it. Again I hijacked the picture of the tomato it just helps me in my journal to know the different colors

Grosse verte rose it was a tie between Big Chief and this plant for the first tomato but I'm going to give the tiebreaker to this plant because it has 2 tomatoes and way more flowers this thing's going to be a super producer I hope they taste matches

Sea Eagle I have to agree earl faux is the best tasting pink I've tasted. It's a must grow for me every year

Yes this is another one that I've been looking forward to growing is not purple strawberry. The plant isn't very big but it's got a mega Bloom at the top

Black from tula.i did grow this last year and if my memory serves me right I think it's a smaller but very productive tomato the plant isn't very big but note to self the smaller plants were probably the ones that I started 2 weeks after the larger plants so just because it's smaller doesn't mean it's not a vigorous grower. Noticed how some of the leaves fold in on itself I wonder what causes that

Nigella de almoguera I'm not quite sure what that means but it's a cool-looking tomato looking forward to tasting this one. Again any of the tomato pictures that I post are not my own they belong to someone else but the tomato plants or mine
