We planted our first Sweet Million plants this year. We like Sweet 100 and Supersweet 100. I'm thinking Sweet Million will be a lot alike those two.

Some years ago, I grew Sweet Million. This year it's gonna be Supersweet. Comparisons will be kind of futile as there's no direct way of comparing them side-by-side, but Supersweet was so highly praised by some tomato afficianods so I had to try it out. (lemming behavior...)

Default Compare Sweet 100 to Sweet One Million

Does Sweet One Million or Supersweet taste like sweet 100? I love the taste and productivity of Sweet 100 but cracks something awful. So I was wondering if I should try one of these others.

Last year it was one of the miracle gro pod varieties, but I couldn't find it this year.
They switched tomato types in the pods,or at least the ones I could find in stores.
I now have that, spanish cherry and the american seed cherry types.

I just germinated 10 seeds of Sweet Million. Haven't grown it in a few years but I remember I liked it better than Sweet 100. Although I'm only going to grow 3 plants, I'm hopeful for a good crop.

A few years ago I religiously grew Sweet Million - it is a proven producer.

However I have read it is a Monsanto owned seed so I decided to discontinue planting it. This may not matter to anyone, but it bugged me and there are lots of good substitutions in the sweet indeterminate cherry world.

I have seedlings started and grooving under the grow lights.

Sweet Millions, Super Sweat Cherry, Sun Sugar, Black Cherry, and Wild Cherry so should be able to have a taste off!

I heard that Sweet Million isn't really a hybrid.

I bought some SM seeds that were listed as OP and they always came true

Sweet Million F1 is from Sakata Seeds (Japan). I caanot find any evidence that Sakata is owned by Monsanto.

I have only grown S100 and SS100 in the past. I remember the clusters took a long time to get all ripe. Plus the fruit size got even smaller towards the end.
That was 4 years ago. But then I found larger cherry varieties that I preferred, though not as sweet but more "tomato-ey" taste.
This year I am growing a red grape and Juliet in my red cherry category. I also have Sun Gold, Esterina F2, Black Cherry and Chocolate Cherry in non-red class. I dream of making a salad mixing all of them. I love colors and eating with my eyes first.

I bought my seeds of Sweet Million from TGS, they do not buy Monsanto seeds so I think you don't have to worry.
Very tasty sweet cherry sized red fruit on long double trusses, great producer, downside is not too bad, but the fruit breaks off the pedicel and drops far too easily. Cracking was not an issue. 100% germination every year- I grew it for 3, before I discovered Tville.

That is great to know that in fact, this isn't a seed owned by this company. My internet searches linked this hybrid to Monsanto so after a time and unable to verify it wasn't Monsanto, I reluctantly gave it up. Thank you for this info.

To be honest, this was one of my favorites to grow. It helped get my daughter interested in gardening because she could often find a tasty treat out in the backyard and the plant had an "Easter Egg hunt" quality to it.
