2017 Tomato Garden

Here are some pics of my tomato garden I use 1" EMT . Wracks are about 7ft tall X 12ft long each row is about 25 ft long. 50 plants per row about 875 plants total
single stem indt with 36 deter
I put out a vegetable stand with a donation box no scale no prices

That is gorgeous, pipefitter. How do the strings get installed in the ground? I have Earthboxes with cages around them, so this is a totally different thing.

Very nice. If I may ask, will you rotate next year, and if so how - would you need to move the supports and landscape fabric?

The string is tited to the bottom of the tomato plant
As for rotation probably not the frames stay up along with the nylon string the ground cover gets folded up and horse compost
Gets put down and tiller in

Beautiful setup. Just curious, how many #'s of tomatoes do you estimate you will harvest from so many plants during a growing season? Again, it really looks great and can see the hours of sweat and love invested.

I don't know how much i will get but last year i did 325 plants an i ran out of tomatoes 2nd week of August plant succumb to blight and a lot of trouble with white fly
this year i am using Met-52 early
Also strict single stem, removing all leaves to first truss , and any other leaves for good ventilation or any sign if blight

Yes it does. I tried a couple of rolls of the 5mil you recommended and I will have more next year. Going to tighten it up closer to the plants & cover as much ground as possible.

This is great! One of the great properties of polyethylene film- it melts quickly and burns right away. I'd get started on that pallet with holes!!
