Well, it is finally happening!
After having constantly stared at the green tomatoes in my tomato patch for 5 weeks, I see that a few of them are FINALLY starting to change color! Unexpectedly it is the Sweet Gold yellow cherries who are first, even if the Sugary red cherries were the first to go from flower to fruit. I guess it just proves that the days-to-maturity is just a suggestion, not a rule.
Just wanted to share my excitement and two photos of the what I consider a miracle. Hilde |

Great news - thanks for sharing. We too are on the cusp - went from tomatoless to on the precipice of overwhelm (which we should be peering at in about a week!).

Yep, here too. Lots of 'em about to turn. In another week or so all heck will break loose.

Thanks!
Yes, it is funny isn't it how we wait and wait and wait and then suddenly everything starts to turn and we get overwhelmed with tomatoes! Hopefully, if we don't get hit too hard by diseases or insects, we will have tomatoes until the first frost! Here are two pictures from today. I think some of the red Sugary tomatoes are about to turn also, see the little tint of yellow. Hilde |
