BrandyFred wonderful flavour

I did try a BrandyFred today ...they are very complex and even sweet.. I Tip my hat to the Dwarf Project people .... It turns out to me for this year to be pecariously close to a late (but Yummy !) The plant looks beautiful and healthy ...PL. There are lots of greenies developing .... I will see how it goes the next 2 weeks to see etc.

Black Bear, this may be a little off topic, but what do you think of Pozhar? People grow it in containers, it's supposed to be early, and everyone raves about its productivity. And they report it tastes good. Seems like nobody sells seeds for it; guess you have to know someone...

Large Fruited 7 Gallon Gallery PIX August 12th
Large Fruited Gallery with 7 Gallon Pix. August 12th :
Top Row : Left to Right BrandyFred , Zinulya , Velmozha , Loxton Ladd Bottom Row : (honorable mention comparison ) Left to Right Boronia , Dwarf Arctic Rose , Yukon Quest . Missing From Pix. EM Champion , and Krasnodor Titans . Pros & Cons so Far : Brandy Fred : Large nice fruit/nice healthy PL good taste ...close to late variety for me Still producing ... Zinulya : The Largest fruit ..but sprawly foliage and few fruit ...seems to want Bigger than the 7 gallon container to be in best production ..later production. Velmozha : produced early and still producing (semi-determinate?) large yields ...medium hearts many double hearts = large This one is a Must grow again ! I think more zippy flavour than EM champion which is a bit more sweeter. Loxton Ladd : Lots of good orange flavourful fruit early for me ...still producing but medium fruit only for me. Comparison of notable mediums : Boronia : Very close to Large fruit ...great flavour a bit later but comes in and produces Big Time . Dwarf ArcticRose : Produced early and heavy yields ..still producing ... Yukon Quest : comes in Later medium fruit (but tolerates smaller containers) None of the above in the gallery had disease or BER ..yet .. in a very stressful record heat year . Amazing enough my hybrid BIG BEEFs were the ones that got disease ,,,and were "decomissioned "...
