What are your favorite "tasting" tomatoes? - Page 3

Looks like you've got some pretty good varieties there. Of the ones you've listed, I like BW Red and Rutgers the best. I think you will find them to be very similar and possibly better than your celebrity experience.

Yup, that height is typical for GJ and ML. CP is usually a little shorter for me... but 6' is not unheard of.

As for the community garden... could be it gets much more light than your home garden.....

2. Cherokee Purple
3. Pink Potato Top
4. Grandpa Willie
5. Toms Yellow Wonder

I've never grown a cherry (only Yellow Pear & Yellow Submarine)

3. Moskovich. Thanks Fert1 for the seeds last year.
4. Bucks County.
5. Brandy Boy.

Only a little over half of my three dozen or so varieties are ripe as of now, but so far it goes like this:

Mer de Nomes red
Watermelon Beefsteak PL
Cherokee Purple
Black Krim
Nyagous

As you can see, I have an affinity for the blacks...

Cherries:

Sun Gold-I always grow it, although it has never been as productive as other varieties I have grown. Delicious.

Black Cherry-Always outproduces Sun Gold by a country mile for me. I don't know why.

Dr. Carolyn-Been a few years since I have grown it. Lush and loaded with pale yellow fruits. In a good year, the flavor is assertively fruity, but with obvious tomato taste.

Sweet 100-Always productive and a straight ahead tomato taste.

Slicers: On my grow forever list, although I am growing mostly new to me varieties this year.
