Miracle Gro red or blue

I was walking through home depot and noticed a red miracle gro that is marketed for tomatos. I have use the blue stuff on occasion in the past but I was wanting to know if anyone knows if there is any difference between red and blue miracle gro. I looked on their site and searched but couldnt find any info on any difference between the two.

The red has higher P and K. Blue is 24-8-16. I believe the red tomato one is ~~18-21-21.~~ 18-18-21

If red is 18-21-21, it's closer to being what a tomato plant needs than the blue.

I've used red and nothing bad happened.

They and others have reformulated with more nitrogen.
Something I have always known that the original "tomato" products lacked.

Miracle Grow's value is mostly the minor elements included, I think. It is cheaper to buy 4-18-38 and alternate with calcium nitrate, and then maybe some occasional cal mag or epsom salt.

I use the blue stuff mainly to start my tomatoes out.. give them the extra boost of nitrogen. As soon as I see flower buds on my tomato plants, I switch to red.

The blue variety is call "bloom booster", I think. (I threw away the box). I use it at 1/2 to 2/3 strength all season on my container peppers. I grow tomatoes inground...I use the red MG at full strength for those. Nothing but good results from both.
