Strange looking thing huh? Does that mean it is not stable?

I'm wondering ... it's the first time I've grown it. I have two plants and they look quite different from one another. There is one more fruit on this plant with "appendages." There are also other normal-looking fruit on the same plant. I've never seen anything quite like it.
