Finally
Got my seedlings out of the basement and on the driveway/garage. Seeded Apr5 and under grow lights since the 11th. Mort Lift, GGWT, Choc Cherry, Orange paruche, Hillbilly, Wes, Big Beef, Clear Pink Early and Orange Slice. 72 in all plus a Cherokee Purple in a 20 gal tote since I bought it WalMart a while back. Need 9 more for the garden and 8 late ones for the containers. Glad to be done in the basement till I seed the few for late tomatoes. Bought Lucky Cross, Gold Medal and several others for that. I have Cherokee Purple seed also. Beautiful day and the plants have had their first bit of sun....yay!

Congrats! My plants saw the sun for the first time today, too. They've been under lights in the garage since early April. It finally feels like tomato season is starting!

Drove about 20 miles to a greenhouse and found some really nice Big Beef in 4" pots. At least a foot tall and 1$ apiece..slightly light colored from being too wet but the sun will fix that today. I'm pretty well finished with stocking up except for egg plants. Hope to have all 100 plants in the ground within ten days. Prob seed the late ones about the 20th of May.

Mine will go in-ground this week.
I gotta buy Big Beef & Early Girl for my mother. We'll all help plant her garden on Mother's Day. (I make sure she also has some good heirloom tomatoes, too). Nan |

I set 6 rows of nine plants...4 diff varieties the last two days and am so sore its difficult getting out of bed in the morning. Now the rain. I will have some huge seedlings as it looks as though I will have to wait till the 13th to get them planted. I have 27 more to go. Not counting the peppers, egg plant and squash. The tiller's a killer on my 70 yr old back and legs. Or maybe its the stooping, squating and perching on my basketball knee pads. Groan.

The beauty of no-till is no tiller.
