Default Indoor Hydroponic setup

So needed a project this spring, decided to build an NFT grow box. Pic has 200 oasis cubes, if all goes well will transplant in about a week-10 days. 4x8 area should be full as plant out approaches end of May.

Cubes have a heat mat under them
Lights are 260w leds. Will add a third shortly
Reflective panels yet to be installed on upper frame
Fan yet to be installed
Using oasis horticubes for start media.
Currently pump runs 15 min every 3 hours.
Channels are farmtek 6"x 8'
50 gal reservoir

I went with this setup because i think it will be the most versatile. I can use it for germinating, growing out seedlings, and i can grow greens/herbs in winter.

Thats a great setup. I wanted to buy a couple of those from farmtek. The shipping to Hawaii was more expensive than the channels. I decided to make my own, so it can be opened and cleaned properly. They really work great for my lettuce and cabbage.
Aloha, Tom

Default 2 months in

What a difference in 2 months.
Never had starts so robust.
Already have tomatoes on the sungolds.
Better warm up soon or plants will overshoot the lights.

Very nice.

Depending on how risk averse you are, we're expecting decent low temps Low 50s) in central Mass by next week.

For those following, the tomatoes overshot the lights and got leggy and a mess before i could get them outside last week.
Tallest were7' 30-45 days max before set out next year.
Also need to add a fan.

Yes you should have a fan and temp / humidity readers so you know what is going on. Plus nutrient readers for the water and PH readers.

But hell if you grew them to 7ft then you don't need anything lol.
They only went leggy because the lights become too weak as the plants get bigger.

Outside.
Frankly did not expect them to survive.
Checked light levels, 15000 lux outside 20000 lux in the grow box.
So not too much sunburn.
Windburn yes.
Super ratty, and will be different next year, but they are out and growing.
