PSA regarding KARMA Purple and KPMF
Hello to all those who are trying out the KARMA Purple and KPMultiflora.
A gardener alerted us to KARMA Purple having 3 of regular leaf(wrong) and 3 of Potato Leaf (correct). I started quite a few seeds of both the Purple and the KPMF, 3 rows of each and marked, and the photos show that one of the saved fruits from KPplain, not MF, had a bee cross. I had seeds of a few saved fruit together. So for those growing KP but the non MF, please save seeds labeled as KARMA Purple only from those that are PL, and therefore correct for the variety. The ones with RL are an F1, unknown pollen donor. You all can clearly see in the photo that the KPMF are all potato leaf, seeds are stable and can be saved and traded as KARMA Purple Multiflora. As far as I know this is the first time I have ever had a bee cross, and it's humbling. |

Thank you Marsha and bee crosses happen!
It’s no big deal and who knows, maybe something fantastic will come of it I’ll take some of those seeds for a future little look-see myself! They don’t call them open pollinated for nothing and I’m glad there’s at least one bee in Florida K Last edited by KarenO; June 14, 2019 at 08:47 PM. |
