Lots of Maters...
I just had to take some pictures of the lovely maters. It's crazy...I have to pick every other day. I love it! Horse manure does wonders!
First is a Black Pear, Guernsey Island, an Italian from seeds from a friend's uncle from Italy, Persimmon, Red Zebra, Stripped Cavern, White w/ Pink Strips, Yellow Gooseberry, Yellow Ruffles. I'm savin seeds too.

The Black Pear is very good! I also like the flavor of the sutffer. I actually used them to make sutffed "peppers" the other night. So I had sutffed tomatoes instead! They work great!
I think the persimmon is weak. The gooseberry's had good tomato flavor for being yellow.

I haven't tired the white/pink stripes yet. I will probably harvest more seeds tomorrow and get to tasting then.

As an alternative to the Persimmon, please consider Elfie as an orange beefsteak. It's been great for me this season, still cranking them out and they taste great, though smaller now, as you'd expect. No cracking. I highly recommend it!

More coming. I even got a 1 pound White Oxheart. I didn't know Oxhearts could be SO BIG!
Next is a Big Rainbow, Mano, The Mano cut open and about the have it's seeds extracted. The group is a White/Pink Stripes, White Oxheart and some Stripped Caverns.

I like the pictures you took without the use of flash.

What lovely tomatoes!
The white with pink stripes is a new one for me, never heard of it before! Can you tell me a little background on it, and how was the flavor ... assume you've had a chance to taste it by now? Dee |

I even forget where I got the seeds. They were exchanged with me with someone from WI. It has really good tomato flavor. Not too bland like the low acid stuff that usually comes with the light colored tomatoes. I just had that giant one in the picture tonight on my pork burger. It was fantastic. Even my Father, who thinks tomatoes all have to be red, liked the flavor.

The flash-less photos where taken out on the back porch while extracting seeds. I was enjoying the weather while it was nice out.

I've got a couple more. My prized BIG Brandywine. 1lb 6oz. It was fantastic with the fresh mozzarella, basil, EVOO and balsamic tonight for dinner!
I've also taken to roasting my last tomatoes. I ran out of jars, so roasting, blending and freezing what ever is left before the cool weather comes! The stuffed ones in the pic were my stripped stuffers filled with sauteed zuchinni, onion, stovetop and Parm. They were great. Also, my few crazy carrots I got out of my garden.
