Default Rosovye Krupnye tomato variety

I've recently received these seeds which are now germinated and I'm trying to find out any info as to the history on this tomato. I assume it comes from somewhere in Russia and wonder what the English translation of the name is. I got the seed from FarmerShawn and see it is described as a RL Pink large slicer on his google sheet. Is there anyone on Tomatoville that has grown this variety and could provide some information ?

Regards,
Dan

My spelling for it was Rosovyi Krupnyi. I grew it in 2018 and 2019 and it is returning again for this year. RL, 12-18 oz, very productive and very tasty for me. It's a keeper.

Thanks very much for your information and your input. I'm looking forward to growing it this year.

Check out Tatiana's website.

It could be either the Giant or the Velikan

I grew it in 2017. Round pink slicer. My largest was 14 oz. and I only got fair production out of it.
I don't recall the taste, but I haven't grown it again since. Might just need a second chance in my garden.

72 DTM for me that year which was about average for me that season.

Good luck,

Lee

Appreciate your comments. Do you have any idea of the name translation. I think maybe Rosovye means Pink ? Maybe Large Rose ?

Sorry, I don't My listing shows the name as Rozvye Krupnye. That's how I received the seeds from Carolyn in 2017 when I was growing them out for seed.

Yours is probably a good guess.

Yes, Rozovy means pink, direct translation is rose. Krupnye does not have a direct translation but means large or big.

Thanks for your info. So maybe Big Rose or Large Pink perhaps. I'm looking forward to tasting this one. I just transplanted my seedlings into 4" pots a few days ago. They won't see my garden for another 4-5 weeks. Thanks again.

Spelling can be different depending on what you think, IMHO.
Translated Pink Large and it is large and pink midseason, loved it, am growing again. Worthy keeper.

I've been eating this tomato since the end of July and I really like it. I've picked several that weighed over 30 oz. and the plant is very productive for such a large tomato. I rate the taste at 8.5 on the 0-10 scale. I will grow it again and appreciate Farmer Shawn for taking up Carolyn's last seed offer. I definitely agree with Lindalana that it is a worthy keeper.
