TomFest DownUnder

The first weekend in March saw TomFest DownUnder number two. This one was held in a lovely little town called Marysville in the state of Victoria. Number of attendees almost double that of last year with people from three states.
It was a wonderful weekend with many tomatoes tasted. Even some passing locals joined in one or two were 'converted'.
Among the top favourites were:
Grub's Mystery Green
Green Giant
Black Brandywine
Tasmanian Blushing Yellow

Ray...Thanks for posting that. I was reading the section with all the regional tastings and plant swaps just the other day thinking, how could I get to one from my location ?
The tomatoes look great to those of us who have one week old seedlings...
Tasmanian Blushing Yellow germinated well, and now I know to give it one of the best spots!

Looking at the pix and reading the posts makes me feel like I'm in a time warp but six months out of sync. So similar to a CHOPTAG tasting event in so many respects.
We need some of those hats !!!
Thanks for sharing. Great looking toms.
Interesting that tomatoes cause similar events half a globe away.

Jeanne, you'd be more than welcome anytime downunder. Perhaps you could tie it in with a Morgan meet, they're a popular breed here.
Dave, that particular hat style is a bit of an Aussie icon. The most well known brand is Akubra but they've become so expensive we all by cheap Chinese imitations - shameful really. Mine isn't even felt, real or otherwise!!!

Thanks for the report, Ray. And I'm thrilled to see the greens doing so well amid that huge spread of great-looking tomatoes.

Green Giant is starting to tear away here now. Very good growth when others are dying off. Fruit perhaps a week away.

Suffice to say I'm thrilled Grub's Mystery Green did so well. I hope it works out for everyone Up Over.
