Thought that one may have been a cross from Black Krim ?? as looked alike ..

I've grown Chernomor, which translates to Black Sea Man, but not sure it is the same variety or not. It seemed quite unique to me, different than any other blacks, due to lack of catfacing, and unusually long sepals. Not to mention potato leaf. A very good tomato.

Black Sea Man has good flavor but is very disease susceptible in my garden. It has similar problems in most hot humid climates.

I am growing Black Sea Man for the first time here in Atlanta, and it is indeed disease susceptible. Two plants in different containers are down with what looks like some kind of wilt, while other tomatoes in the same containers are fine. Last time I will grow!!! |

Same here! First time to grow here and have lost 2 to an unknown wilt. Haven't tasted it yet.

Three BSMs growing and producing great here in hot and dry southern New Mexico. I love this tomato for its small stature, good production and great flavor. Third year growing it and not the last.

I guess it doesn't like humidity and wet.

I do grow Black Sea Man variety first time here in Finland, Europe. Summer is quite mild, the highest peak can be +33 °C, but normally day temperature is +18-23 °C and nighttime +13°C is considered normal.
Anyway, we have daylight more than 19 hours right now. There are plenty of flowers on the BSM so I just can't wait August. -- Sown 10 March. Planted to greenhouse 16 May. It's much larger plant now. I can't take a new photo rn, cause the plant is on summer cottage. |

I've trialed dozens and dozens of varieties from that area of the world. That area has produced a whole lotta varieties that don't like the heat and humidity. Most of them taste great, though.
