Golden Cherrywine?
I was browsing at the growartisan.com web site and ran across Golden Cherrywine F1. Had not heard of it before. A search at T'Ville didn't turn up any results.
@Fred Hempel -- could you tell us a little more about it? How does it compare with Pink Cherrywine? I grew PC this summer and it did very well for me. It is pretty much finished now, after producing a lot of sweet, firm cherries. |

Well, it has been a long summer. And I forgot that I put Golden CherryWine on the website.
I have contemplated holding it back, because it is clear that there are a significant number of red-fruited plants in the seed lot. Based on what we have seen, it looks like the red fruited plants are due to some cryptic variability in one of the parents that becomes evident with the cross. But, the red-fruited plants produce nice fruit too. I have plants in the field now that were put in late. Once I look closer at them I will update the website. I would say that compared to Pink CherryWine, Golden CherryWine plants are even more vigorous (and Pink CherryWine has done well for us) Seems to be relatively resistant to fungal leaf diseases, particularly mildew and early blight. More resistant than Pink CherryWine. Fruits are yellow to orange with green shoulders that fade with ripening. Some may prefer flavor of yellow fruits with green shoulders. Flavor is bright and sweet. Like with Pink CherryWine, the fruits have a longer shelf-life than most cherry tomatoes.

Yes. Size uniform within golden cherrywine. Overall maybe a bit larger than pink cherrywine

We have finally analyzed our new "performance" cherry tomatoes, and we are releasing 3 this year. Golden CherryWine, Pink CherryWine and the new one -- Lucky Bee
There are 3 or 4 others that will be released next year. Still determining the final list.
