Need Description
I need a description of American Beauty. I have searched and can not find but one reference to it. What can you tell me about this tomato variety?
Thanks! Gary

One says indet, round red fruit, from ENSC and the other says indet round, slightly flattened red/pinkish fruit, very good production, and gives no seed source. ENSC stands for Eastern Native Seed Conservancy so I went to get the website but it's no longer active. I then Googled a bit and found references to it, but only in lists with no descriptions. I did find it mentioned on a trade list of David, who goes here by the user name of dwlcrl who listed it and said he grew it in 2007. So you might want to contact him about the basic traits of it. As to history, I don't see any references from my Googling this AM. And I did check a few back issues of SSE Yearbooks and saw nothing but I certainly didn't look at all of my back issues.

Neil/Carolyn, I do Thank You for sharing this information with me. There must be a limited number of folks growing this variety.

And a wee bit more information
my seed from Mary in Oregon 03. Regular leaf, Indeterminate USDA resave from Craig L. small to medium pinkish red sweet tomato. Does surprisingly well in coolish fall weather. Organically grown.Originally from Craig USDA. 2003. Craig says: Should be a medium pink.

My seed source was Bruce Sanders of Oklahoma.
I grew it out many years ago so I check my notes and I found I had written "medium pink, nothing special, average in all catagories, not for regrow". Michael |

I'll bet you two packs of seed that the name is Brian Sanders, not Bruce, and I miss him and wish that he'd post more often.
