Yes, Isabella=Concord. I remember it from my childhood as isabella and in US the equivalent that we found is Concord, unless there are several varieties of very aromatic black grapes with the inside that pops out and that feels like a gummy bear.... What do you do with them when they ripen? Last year was the first year when we had a good harvest of them, but we could not eat all of it becuase the skins are kind of tart and we could not convince our kids to eat this kind of grape.

recently I found out that a local grape variety we used to call Isabella is actually Alpha. Yes, it's tart but it's a pleasant tart flavor highly praised here fresh and in compot and in vine!

The taste was very good, but it was late for my Zone 4a. I managed to get only one fruit from a single plant. The original seed source - Russian seed company Biotechnika from St.Peterburg
Need to see if I saved seeds of this variety...

No, they are not the same. Mine is bigger and skin is darker...
