I remember a thread about Black Cherry from this season a while back about the size of the fruit coming in around the size of a golf ball -

I've never seen them that big until a co-worker of mine saved seed from a regular size (cherry size) black cherry (normal color) last season / grew them out and this year he got this around a golf ball size purplish/pink looking tomato -

The leaves are exactly the same shape - but the fruit color is wrong and the fruits are bigger (with great flavor BTW)

Other than the possibility of a cross, has anyone else had like a golf ball size BC with a purplish hue ???

Tom, that was me and here's the pic of my tomato

As the season progressed, they looked normalish cherry size. By that I mean, they were big for a cherry, but looked like a cherry. So evidently the wet weather played a part in their size.
All mine started out typical black looking with green shoulders but if you let them continue to ripen, the green shoulders went away and they took on the purple pink hue like I see in your photo. My seeds were purchased fresh this year, so there shouldn't be a crossing issue.
They are darn good at that purple/pink stage too!

Mine have always looked like the ones in your photo; a little smaller than a golf ball and the color is the same as your photo. This is the most requested variety of the last two years from the people who get plants from me.

our fruits are like a black from tula color with a cherry size - no idea how this one got in the mix !

Black Cherry is one of the most anticipated varieties in our patch every year: it really is a winner

It appears that this is most likely a different strain/cross/mutation of Black Cherry.

It is not the weather. I have four plants from the same seed package; all the other three plants are normal size cherries. I don’t remember where I bought the seeds from.
Also, this one plant fruits much later and not very productive.
I put a few normal biggest Black Cherries and biggest Sungolds for size comparison in the pictures.
I had harvested a couple even bigger ones a week ago that I did not realize it was from this plant. Because of the very tight spacing of my plants. I thought they were very small Black Krims. They tasted exactly like Black Cherries and the color is the same.
