Well and irrigation pros' help
After renting in this mile high desert for nearly a year I found a property on an Acre, nice house wife likes but best for me in this forsaken desert it is in river valley with a pre drilled irrigation well. 4" ID 100' deep looking to irrigate for tomatoes, Chiles, pumpkins, Corn and Fruit trees(Apples, Nectarine, Peach).
I have to run about 200-300-feet of 220v for well pump power and select a downhole pump. Water supply should be good but I never had a well before and need advice on filtration systems to work well with Drip , sprinlklers and Drip tape. No worries about household, it would be on municicpal supply, the well would be dedicated to my "hobby". I am sick. Please help. I am excited becasue my wife would let me have chickens! (I am easy) The cost of rigging the irrigation does come into the purchase decision. Soil is the standard sandy rocky silt that will need lotsa ammending. New Mexico with River rock..A challenge. Looking at Sprawl method for market gardening.

Bryan,
Do you live near Tijeras / Edgewood in the East Mountains? My son put in a 300ft deep well a couple of years ago, and I am sure he would be happy to talk with you about his experience, and components that he used. PM me and I will get you in touch with him. Raybo |
