Default A very pleasant surprise

Was outside to do some cleanup, and was surprised by this. I thought my tomato garden had totally died out with the first three light frosts we've had. The high will be 48F today and was only 46F yesterday. But one little Tiny Tim plant that was grown in a 3 gallon nurery pot hasn't quit just yet. I have all my pots stacked up ready for the winter pile and this small color splash caught my eye. It had these two ripe ones and has about a half dozen green ones still in place. It has almost no foliage left, so I think these two little guys probably won't have that "summertime flavor", but the color caught my eye and I couldn't resist bringing them in.

Ted,

It is so nice to find more tomatoes in your garden when you did not quite expect that... Wonderful!
I am so jealous!

Well, Howdy, Miss Tania. Yes, it IS a good thing. And I was wrong. They tasted better than the slicers the wife bought at the grocery. They still had that tart sweetness that took my mind back to late July. A small but welcome treat here at the eve of winter.

I hope this holiday season finds you and yours well and secure.

Oh, very nice surprise! Maybe the black pots soaked up enough heat to prtect the little plants.

All of our tomato plants are long gone but our geraniums and mint plants are still producing. I picke geraneums every week and bring them inside.
