Polish "C"
Either I don't know or have forgotten the difference in this and Polish...I expect "C" is PL.
Enlighten me on Polish "C"....I got my seeds from Bill years ago. Earl |

I grew Polish "C" many years ago and remember it as being a very good tasting fruit of average or above in production. I believe it averaged about 10 oz. fruit and I DO think it was a potato leaf plant as you expected. Definitely worth trying!

The above thread may be helpful. Once upon a time there used to be Polish A, B an C's and originated, as I recall with someone named Gault from the Chicago area. By the time I joined SSE in 1989 only the C was around and I got seeds for it from Robert Richardon in 1991 and subsequently relisted it. It's indet, PL, dark pink fruits, vigorous Indet and fruits in maybe the 12 oz to 1 # range. I'm not sure who the Bill is you're referrinhg to but if Bill Ellis, then Polish ( Ellis) is not the same as Polish C, but the two are alike in almost every other way except tastes can be slightly different depending on the season. It's usually easy to spot Polish ( Ellis) b/c Bill used the word redbrick color to describe the fruits and several places selling seed have used the same words. I could list several other varieties that go by the name of Polish or have it as part of the name and to me they are essentially the same. One year I grew Polish C and Polish ( Ellis) so I could compare the two and they were almost alike with maybe a wee edge on taste going to Polish (Ellis), and I should say in that particular year. There's more in the above thread I linked to which is from 2007 here at Tville. Hope that helps.

And Bill probably got Polish C from me b'c I was the first, I think, to list it and when he first started collecting PL varieties we traded the PL varieties we each had that the other one didn't have. That was way back in the early 90's and yes, I've known Bill that long but we haven't interacted in many years.
