Default Arkansas Marvel

Got a couple of great catalogs this week from Baker Creek and Landreth; both very beautiful and delight the senses. Landreth listed Arkansas Marvel, a bicolor, at 1-3lbs. Anyone had any experience with this one as to taste, production, size etc. Thanks

I have no experience with it whatsoever, but can give you the listing of it in the 2009 SSE YEarbook where it was offered by just one person for the first time and no doubt someone at Landreth is an SSE member and got the seeds last Spring.

Here's the original listing:

100 days, indet, regular leaf plant, beefsteak fruit about one pound each, yellow with red marbling, very few seeds around the outside edge, good taste, fair yield.

The source of the variety was from an SSE member in IL. I know the above lister very well and when good is said for taste, that's way down the list of adjectives that that person uses to describe taste, and fair yield speaks for itself.

So perhaps there are some other SSE members who also requested that variety last Spring and grew it and are Tville members who can contribute their experience with it.

Arkansas marvel is a quite good "pineaple" type.
I grown it last year. Mid-season, very good taste as well as other bicolor type.
The production is normaly.
