Favorite Green, Favorite White
I am only planting one GWR and one white. Which are your favorites for these colors? For white, I'm kinda looking for the whitest white, and for green, the best tasting (which I know, is realtive). Fruit size doesnt matter, although I'd prefer not cherry.

Here's a green with no name to it yet. Maybe Gregory's Green. Who knows. It was supposed to be a pink but there might have been a mix up somewhere along the line. GREAT tasting. I can say that because it was my first green I ever had in my garden.
It was poato leafed so some thought it was Grubs mystery green but I can't tell. Growing two plants this year to see what happens. If you have room and want to try it, just let me know. Greg 007[2].jpg 010.jpg |

White Queen is the whitest and best tasting of the so called Whites, none of which are really white, that I've grown. IMO most are bland but WQ does have some taste to it.Not a family heirloom, first offered by the Earl May Co in 1941. But the degree of whiteness, lets call it ivory to pale yellow, is a function of a specific variety, the foliage cover and the degree of UV; colors can range from ivory to pale yellow to a deeper yellow as a function of those variables.

Cherokee Green is the only GWR I've grown and I don't know how it could be topped: early, very productive all season, excellent flavor, nice round shape and uniform size, crack-free - just a beautiful tomato.

Best
I grew AuntRubys German Green and Spears Tennesee Green They were excellent but the spears were earlier and more productive, snow white for a cherry no doubt one of the best and for a larger one out of the 6 varieties I grew last year White potatoe leaf was the best.

I really like Green Zebra - great flavour & productive for me - nice ripe colours of lime green & gold ....
Of the whites I have tried, I have been disappointed to put it mildly - lack flavour for me ( but then again I like strong "acidy" tomato flavour), and I found they were not-quite-ripe one minute, then over-ripe, soft, and being attacked by beer bugs the next. No more whites in my garden.
