Any suggestions for a firm, sweet, flavorful pink cherry tomato? I have Amish Salad, but wondered if there might be others that I should check out.

I really like the flavor of Pink Ping Pong, though it's pretty large for a cherry. Another large pink cherry I would NOT grow again is Wickline. Bland flavor, mushy texture and BER issues. I thought Rosalita was quite bland, as well. Wish I could of more help.

I like Sweet Quartz, a hybrid that I think may be about the same as what used to be sold as Rose Quartz. Very nice, pink, sweet, flavorful tomato. Also, I've grown Rose Quartz Multifora which supposedly came from Rose Quartz but with that I got both red and pink fruit from plant to plant and year to year. Nice tomato as well.

Totally Tomatoes has a new pink hybrid cherry tomato called Sweet Treats this year. Harris Seed has it also.

I liked Pink Ping Pong a lot too - I saved enough seed (like a couple of teaspoons) to share some if you would like to try. I did not bag & ate too many rather than saving enough seed. Big vigorous plant that bore heavily once it got going. I'll grow again this year. I agree it is too big to call a cherry but that didn't stop 2-bite munching in the garden.

Greg, that's a new one for me.
I would have thought that anything with Santa as part of the name would be red as is the original Santa F1, and from saved seeds many folks are out to the F6 and beyond with no pink grape shaped fruits. So Santa Cherry is a cherry and not grape shaped? And it's a hybrid or OP and who offers it? I saw no listing for it in the SSE Yearbook, saw one link to it at TGS but then not listed there and checked the 2010 TGS catalog and not there either. Just curious.

Guernsey Island Pink Blush; on the late side for a cherry
tomato, but with a subtle, sweet flavor, decent size (bigger than Rosalita, which I grew right beside it). http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/G...and_Pink_Blush

Sweet Quartz F1 and Brandysweet Plum are favorites of mine.
I don't know if I'd call Brandysweet Plum "firm", but the flavor is great. |

Carolyn, you are correct Santa (the tomato that is lol) is red, not pink. And I guess the name is Santa and not Santa Cherry. In Tatiana's tomato base its described as " small red grape cherries" and said it is aka Santa Sweet. I grew it in 2009 and the fruits were about the same size as Black Cherry fruits.

I too grew Guernsey Island Pink Blush from Dan & Val. It was an oval druplet shaped small tomato with decent flavor but was not spectacular. One note I made is that it crosses readily. The correct form is an ovoid tomato with a bright pink color and slightly iridescent skin.
Dr. Carolyn Pink is just about the best pink cherry I have grown though Sweet Quartz is very good if you like the high sugar types. DarJones |

I third the Pink Ping Pong - but definitely larger (i.e. "ping pong" ball sized). Thanks for reminding me to compare 2 or 3 more pink cherries this year.

Kapturek (Little Red Riding Hood) is Polish and supposed to be a pink cherry, but this year will be my first time to try it (if I get seeds).

guernsey pink blush.
it is my FAVOURITE tomato. good producer, not as prolific as other cherries, but holds its own. doesn't last too long into the cooler weather, but totally worth any space you give it. again...thanks to dan and val. |
