Default Rate Kimberly's Taste

Well, I finally decided my first K was ready to eat. My first ripe homegrown before June since living in Ohio. I cut it in half, Kathy getting one of them. The flavor jumped all over my tongue, balanced between sweet and tangy. Kathy said, "More Kimberly!!!"

It's excellent! Craig. Thanks!!! for spreading the seeds around.

I like it too. For an early -- 9.5. Overall -- 8 to 8.5.

And it's been very productive as well. My two plants have been producing since mid April and show no signs whatsoever of slowing down.

Default Me too.

I agree Earl. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavour of Kimberly. Ditto for its production and general hardiness. A must-grow.

I'll let you know Earl. That's if Grub ever sends me some seeds so I can actually grow one LOL.
He is probably organising his big 4 oh birthday bash. Probably a big persons sleepover in a ridiculously expensive and huge boat, with expensive liquors, gross amounts of seafoods and a vast sea to barf in.

I rate the taste of Kimberly as top 5 including main season varieties. I was just wondering before I saw this topic how much better Kimberly tasted this year and how productive it has been. Grown in a 4 gallon pot it has produced over 40 1-1/2" red globes and more are on the vine. More Kimberly in the fall!!

Tom, K is more balanced [sort of melts in your mouth] whereas SFT has a bit of a bite, a bit of acid flavor. But I like that, so will grown both. :-)

I'm letting them fight it out in my driveway this year, along with Taxi - my three non-cherry tomato earlies. I like Kimbery better than the similar Stupice. I am hoping that SFT is happier in a pot than it typically does in my garden soil.

I rushed mt first Kimberly it was a little hard and just so so.
Typical early, I thought.

I let the second one ripen up nice and split it with my daughter Mary. She bit first (about lost my finger) I could tell by her expression and the way she went for my half that something was different.

WOW! I am really impressed with this tomato...sweet and tangy and the flavor hangs around.

Stupice was beat by Gregori altai, which was knocked out by Silvery Fir Tree, who just lost to my new reigning EARLY CHAMP.....Kimberly!!...

I did get Taxi from Craig and will see how that stacks up.

so Silvery Fir Tree, is like
a strong "acid" tasting tomato ?
Obviously palates are diffferent,
but if a couple people say the same ...
Next year, I'll do Kimberly as well, to compare -
Right now I just have Stupice, and SFT ~

Thanks Grub, I will sow them as soon as they arrive. Got the greenhouse loaded with new soil and compost and it is primed ready to go.

Default No Wuzzers

No worries. I had no idea you start so early. My beds are a pile of old stakes. Much work to do

Yeah, not sure if they will get my any earlier tomatoes or not but its worth a try. Sowed my greenhouse plants on June 5 last year and they went really well. Got 5 peppers with about 4 true leaves and looking good.
