Default Indira Ghandi Black

This came through on a round robin, other than spelling Gandhi correctly, what is this?

I know WHO Indira Gandhi was...anyone have info on this variety of tomato?

Listed by Andrey in the 2009 SSE YEarbook:

80 days, indet, reg leaf plant with a good yield of black oblate 200-400 gm fruits, very good flavor, mid to mid-late season, from Russian non CV, from a 2007 seed trade with a local Belorusian seed collector, named after famous former Indian Prime-minister killed in 1984.

Earl, considering your seed collection and the fact that you get seeds from all over do you think it might be time to consider an SSE membership?

Default thanks

wow...thanks Carolyn for that information.

without getting into details...frankly the whole episode with Kent Wheatly and Amy Goldman held me back...

I won't comment in any more details as I am not politically motivated in my convictions...but I DO have convictions. It's also confusing as to which forums allow open discussion or not. Forums, being privately owned are not subject to American constitutional rights but offer a platform for many countries and beliefs.

That said...I'll think about it and it has nothing to do with the company and friendships I have made!

Earl, if you go to the Conversations Forum you'll find a thread about the SSE situation you mentioned and it's long been dead and not posted in b'c I think most folks who are interested in SSE are interested in their mission of preservation of OP varieties and the SSE YEarbook is the core of that activity as I see it.

I agree that this thread is NOT the place to be discussing this issue which is why I called to your attention the already preexisting one in the Conversations Forum.

But for anyone who gets this far, the Yearbooks were mailed out yesterday.
