The real Mischka hospitalized in ICU
I found Mischka lying semi-conscious on the floor yesterday afternoon and took him to my veterinarian ASAP.
After looking at him, she made arrangements to have him rushed to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. He was admitted to their intensive care unit where he remains in guarded condition at this hour. They let us see him before we left. Watching him lying there, hooked up to monitors and IVs, with three vets working on him was heart wrenching. I'm trying hard to stay optimistic but I'd be lying if I didn't say it's been difficult over the last few hours.

Mischka One last word of farewell, Dear Master and Mistress. Whenever you visit my grave, say to yourselves with regret but also with happiness in your hearts at the remembrance of my long happy life with you: "Here lies one who loved us and whom we loved." No matter how deep my sleep I shall hear you, and not all the power of death can keep my spirit from wagging a grateful tail. |

I'm so sorry to hear this. Having met Mischka, I know what a sweet and loving dog he is. I sure hope that the situation improves.
Try and hang in there. I know, easy to say, tough to do. |

I too have met Mischka and am so sorry to hear this Mischka's dad. I know what he means to you, I really do, so let's all hope for the best, but let's also accept that I don't think you want to see him suffer either.
My prayers are with both of you.

nice lookin dog, seems that he looks very pleased on the pic.
i hope also that he will soon come back to you, it's hard to see when a loved animal have diseases depending through injuries or come from age. but for the worst case if that would happen, keep the best shared days with your dog in your mind. due to the fact that i know, how it is to loose a loved 4-legged family member, i send all prayers for you....... greetz Matthias

I am a retired veterinarian and know that Cumming's has an EXCELLENT reputation. Whatever the cause of his sudden collapse, it sounds to me like they are taking it very seriously and doing everything appropriate for the short term. Animals, especially dogs, are amazing creatures who have recuperative abilities that humans often do not. I will keep Mischka in my thoughts and hope that your very special friend is soon on the road to recovery. I understand more than most I guess how large a part of our "family" our animals are. Keep positive thoughts and let us all know how Mischka is doing please.

To both Mischka's and family I'm sending positive, healing thoughts and prayers. I'm sorry to hear that your furry child is feeling so low, Mischka. I know how hard it is to suddenly find your "kid" in physical distress.
And I'm sure the real Mischka knows you want only the best for him and have sent him to where he can find the best care. Tufts is a great facility, so he's in good hands and will get all the care he needs. For all your sakes, I hope the real Mischka comes home soon, better than ever. Zana |
