I'm curious as to hoe Momotoro does in the heat... anyone have any experience?

I am in the desert Southwest-does ok, not the best for fruit set, but definitely not the worst-and we have no humidity. I have wondered if a more humid climate would be better. The flavor is excellent.

Momotaro is a very good tomato, it's my favorit hybrid. From my experience it sets fruits in hot weather, but taste is much better when temperatures are moderate. In really hot weather it can be quite bland.

Takii has just released a Momotarou that has been bred to take high temps.

They are up to 17 varieties of Momotarou.

That's interesting, because my Momotaro grow outs show almost no variation, which means the 'hybrid' is closely line bred and nearly homozygous. I wonder what other lines they might be using? Has anyone else saved and planted seed from the F1?

Back to the first post, last year my Momotaro plants were very strong, but production was light. The few tomatoes I got were superb.
