Night temps to fall below 50 degrees...
For the next 3 or 4 days we are to have highs in the low 70's and lows in the high 40's. Should I cover plants to prevent blossom drop or are these temps OK?

I'd love to swap weather with you for those 3 or 4 days. Temps in the 90s, 100 per cent humidity, with thunderstorms every afternoon.
Seriously you shouldn't have any problems. I don't recall ever having any serious damage from cool nights without temps getting below the mid 30s. |

I'm with b5, you're so stinkin' lucky! Our weather here in VA has been exactly like his(?hers?), except no rain.

Although I grow about 60% of my tomatoes under cover, 40% still go into the open ground, and they do OK at these temps. Tania

I wouldn't worry one bit about temps in the mid to high 40's, been there, done that, old age tomato wisdom rises again.
