Default Anyone else having a great year of gardening?

I'm seeing a lot of people across the country with gardening woes, but few folks are saying they are having a good year.

I'm personally having a better than average year despite losing a couple of plants to various viral and disease issues. I've got a kitchen table loaded with tomatoes of all shapes, sizes, colors, and flavors and we're enjoying every minute of it.

Lets see some pictures and hear some tales of whopper fruits and banner harvests!

Now that's what I call a pile of tomatoes! Absolutely gorgeous. How many varieties are we looking at there?

Go big...those are some beauts!

Timmah...I started 47 varieties this winter...only have maybe 30 in my beds though. I've got ripe fruit from all plants that survived except for Aussie and Tom's Yellow Wonder...they are about to ripen though.

I will add what was in my pic, Left to right brandy boy and tomato berry on the first plate, second plate is earl of edgcombe (a few days before fully ripe) and large red cherry a mealy mess and not fit for my consumption, third plate is cowlicks which had the first ripe one last saturday at 12.75 ounces a real winner and compared it to a brandy boy tonight I had on a hamburger and the brandy boy was good but more mild could be to the watering of my container tomatoes hard to judge side by side when watering can fluctuate between containers.

Cherokee Purple reigns supreme for the third year in a row...it's complex, earthy, rich flavor is beyond compare.

Carbon is giving it a run for the money though.

Sungolds and Sun Sugars are hands down the best cherries we've ever had.

Brandywine Sudduth has the old timey tomato taste with a great balance of sweet and acid...super juicy.

Those are the stand-outs...the rest are good to great with one exception. I hate to even say it, but Dr. Carolyn won't be in the garden in the future...just didn't have much flavor and were kind of dry. I love her book and her advice, but her tomato left something to be desired

What's the scoop on Absinthe? The name is a winner...what's the flavor like?

Despite complaining about diseases and pests and other garden mishaps I have had my best tomato growing year in 35 years of growing tomatoes. So far I have picked over 1300 tomatoes not counting cherries. I've run out of freezer space for sauce and I don't think I'll be able to eat any more salsa or tomato based recipes for a while. It looks like you will be in that situation before long. Next year I am cutting way back on the number of plants and the number of varieties. My top producers are listed in order below.

Bill's Berkley Pink
Neves Azorean Red
Jetsetter
Pale Perfect Purple
JDs Special C Tex
Kosovo
Gary O' Sena
Stupice
Pruden's Purple
Indian Stripe
Old Virginia
Andrew Rahart's Jumbo Red (wasn't true variety)
Berkley Tie Dye Pink
Black Krim
Gregori's Altai
Momotaro
Limbaugh's Legacy
Moreton
Marianna's Peace
Cabernet
Stump of the World
Cowlick's Brandywine
Caspian Pink
Royal Hillbilly
Carbon
Hege German Pink
Rostova
Ramapo
Aker's West Virginia
Bill's Big Backyard
Floralina
Applause
Donskoi
Noire de Crimee
KBX
Brandy Boy Hybrid

I am new to the forum and having a great tomato year. I found this site due to wondering what to do with all these tomatoes. Where do you get all the variety that you folks have?
